    Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, (A Company of the Lanxess Group), is currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and talented individual for the position of Reliability Engineer in El Dorado, Arkansas. In full partnership with the Operations team, this position will be responsible for identifying and managing asset reliability risks through three main areas: Loss Elimination, Risk Management and Life Cycle Asset Management.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Partnering with Engineering and Operations Departments to ensure the reliability, technical compliance and maintainability of new and modified installations. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for adhering to the local  Life Cycle Asset Management process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets working thru direction of Reliability Manager.
    • Participating in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans.
    • Participating in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers.
    • Assisting in the development of acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
    • Participating in the final check of new installations.
    • Guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
    • Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor and refine Asset Maintenance Plansthat includes:
      • Value-added preventive maintenance tasks
      • Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
    • Providing input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risksthat could adversely impact plant operation along with compliance to Jurisdictional mandates.
    • Assist in developing engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
    • Providing technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
    • Applying value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions
    • Working with Production to perform  analyses of assets including: 
      • Asset Utilization
      • Overall Equipment Effectiveness
      • Remaining useful life
      • Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets

    Qualifications

    • Data analysis techniques inclusive of:
    • Statistical Process Control
    • Reliability modeling and prediction
    • Fault Tree Analysis
    • (remove)
    • Six Sigma (6σ) Methodology
    • Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA, Think Reliability a plus)
    • Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)

     

     

    • B.S., Mechanical Engineering
    • 3-5 plus years of reliability experience with fixed and rotating assets
    • Working knowledge of fluid dynamics and the applications related to mass flow rate calculations, pump affinity laws, pump sizing, piping friction loss calculations, etc.
    • SAP experience and Six Sigma a plus
    • Experience with rotating and fixed equipment troubleshooting skills
    • Understand and be able to interpret RAGAGEP to include but not limited to ASME section VIII Div.1, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, API 510, API 570, API 574, API 653, API 1104, state boiler code, and registered vessel requirements
    • Understand requirements for certification and recertification of personnel in welding, CWI, and NDE specifically vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, visual testing, penetrant testing, and ultrasonic thickness testing
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to all levels of the organization
    • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
    • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be eligible to drive company vehicle
    • Ability to work in a Safety Sensitive position
