    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Individual contributor who performs less complex engineering assignments
    • Work is subject to practices and procedures covered by precedents and may require periodic review with team members
    • Responsible for safety of self and others and contributes to incident investigations when required

    Engineering duties:

    • Utilizes basic engineering skills and problem-solving techniques to investigate and solve issues of a low to moderate complexity
    • Completes conventional assignments which involve a limited number of easily distinguishable factors and the application of standard processes and techniques

    Process Improvement duties:

    • Performs assigned tasks related to process improvement activities, such as contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs); may also submit data for management dashboards

    Technology-related duties:

    • Interprets results by applying knowledge of science area, proposes conclusions and follow-up work
    • Organizes and analyzes data and logically presents results in written or oral form to peers and supervisors

    Project Management duties:

    • Participates on project teams, assists in project planning, executes tasks according to specified plans


    Required Work Experience, Skills and Abilities:

    • B.S. in Engineering (typically Mechanical or Chemical) is required
    • Some knowledge of process improvement methodologies (such as Six Sigma or Lean) is preferred
    • 0-3 years of engineering experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing facility. Will have at least some (minimum 1 year) work experience as a trainee, apprentice or similar
    • Knowledge of standard engineering processes
    • Ability to select appropriate standard process and propose minor variations on design or procedures to solve technical problems
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data, and then summarize and convey finding
