    LANXESS Solutions is growing!  We're looking for a do-er who is looking to make an immediate impact by joining our North American Sales Team in the role as an Junior Level Account Manager.  This position will be based in our Middlebury, CT office.

     

    *In the coming months, LANXESS Solutions will be relocating to a new office in Shelton, CT!*

     

    The Account Manager is responsible to grow sales revenue, volumes and material margin with in an assigned territory in base oils, components and finished fluids.  This person will do this by expanding existing customer relationships with increased volumes and by adding new customer product combinations to both manufacturing companies and distributors.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for customers or accounts within a designated territory with a focus on either business to customer sales or business to business sales for industrial products
    • Proven understanding of business needs, such  as market knowledge, market  prices, competition products and prices, technical product knowledge, and account needs
    • Has moderate authority/opportunity to negotiate product/service/price terms
    • Provide reliable information to asset management for product forecasting purpose.
    • Plans own territory or account approach and monitors sales results
    • Initiates and answers sales calls, follows up on sales lead inquiries and converts calls into sales
    • Ability to identify additional opportunities and coordinates with appropriate partner groups (technical marketing, application development, etc.)

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required and MBA a bonus
    • 2 years of experience, outside sales experience a bonus
    • Technical  product and market knowledge
    • Ability to value sell product portfolio
    • Proficient level of negotiation skills
